Shannon Gabriel


Shannon Gabriel is West Indies first-class the cricketer who is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm fast bowler. He is a  fast-bowler and scored 191 runs in 43 Test matches with an average of 4.90. He played in 72 First-class matches and scored 325 runs with a batting average of 5.70

Domestic Career:

On 29 January 2010, he started to play for Trinidad and Tobago against the Leeward Islands in the 2009-10 Regional Four Day competition and made his first-class debut. He took his first wicket of Mali Richards. He took two wickets for 46 runs in the match and team won the match by 45 runs. He made 39.75 runs with four wickets in further two matches of that season.
The West Indies Board established the West Indies High-Performance Centre for enhancing the performance of youngsters in the region in June 2010. He was part of youngsters team in the center’s first intake of 15 players aged 19 to 25. A team was fielded by the center in the 2010/11 West Indies Cricket Board Cup, the regional 50-over competition. On 15 October he made his List A debut against Guyana and took two wickets for 30 runs. For the 2018-19 Cricket West Indies awarded him a red-ball contract in October 2018.

International Career:                                                                               

In May 2010 he took four wickets in his first debut against England he scored 86 runs. As he was injured those days so was sent home for some rest. He took second Test fifer against Pakistan on March 2017. In that match, he started to swing the ball in and out of the batsman so batting became very difficult for Pakistan. As a result Pakistani team was all out for 81 runs and series became leveled 1-1.He was awarded as man of the match and he took 5 for 11 runs. He was selected as a part of West Indies squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup in April 2019.
