Peshawar Zalmi PSL Cricket

Peshawar Zalmi (PZ) the Khpal Team is the Pakistan Super League franchise cricket team represents Peshawar which is the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan established in 2015. Peshawar Zalmi is the very famous team in Pakistan and All around the world owned by Javed Afridi who is the owner of Haier Pakistan. Kamran Akmal Pakistani Test Wicket-keeper is leading run-scorer of PZ while Pakistani pacer Wahab Raiz is the leading wicket-taker for the PZ. Darren Sammy Wesdines Star is the current captain of the team while Mohammad Akram is the head coach of Peshawar Zalmi. Peshawar Zalim has won PSL second edition and they are the Runner-up of PSL third edition as well.      

In the first edition of the PSL began their journey in PSL they played well in group stage matches they have won six games out of eight games and finished top of the table and qualified for playoffs. They played the first qualifier against Quetta after a tough fought they lost the match on the last ball of 20^th over by 1 run.

As they were on the top of the table they get another chance in the playoff to play eliminator match. They played eliminator against Islamabad United in the second qualifier match. They lost eliminator too and they were out of the tournament.

In the second edition of the PSL Zalmi retained 10 players and they signed 8 more players to complete their squad. They have some big names in their squad players like Dilshan, Samuels and Andre Fletcher.

At the group stage, Zalmi did well and they qualified for the playoff. In the playoff it was the replica of  the last year they again played against Quetta where Quetta put a big total  on the board in reply Sami didn’t have good start they were 10 for 2 then Muhammad Hafeez and Malan took on Gladiators bowlers and they put century runs partnership together  but at the end Zalmi again they lost the match on the last ball of the over where Muhammad Nawaz bowled a tremendous over.

In the qualifier 2, they played against Karachi Kings where they defeated Karachi by 24 runs and qualified for the final where they met Quetta which was played in Lahore.

In the Final of PSL second edition, Zalmi defeated Gladiators by 58 and they became the champions of the PSL 2017.   

In the third edition of the PSL defending champions, Zalimi start was not so good. As the tournament progresses zalmi qualified for the playoff again they have to face Gladiators in the eliminators after a thrilling match they manages to win into the last over.

In the final, they faced Islamabad United and they lost the match and become runner up.  

In the fourth edition of the PSL Zalmi have some changes in their squad they have Wayne Madsen, Chris Jorden from England Kieron Pollard, Andre Fletcher and Darren Sammy the captain from Windies and from local players they have Jamal Anwar, Misbah ul Haq, Imam ul Haq, Nabi Gul.
