Ajinkya Rahane Cricket
Ajinkya Madhukar Rahane is an Indian cricketer plays for India national cricket team. He is a right-handed middle-order batsman plays in all formats of cricket and currently vice-captain of an Indian cricket team in test format.
Domestic career:
Rahane started his first-class career for Mumbai at the at of 17 against Karachi Urban in Mohammad Nissar Trophy in 2007 he was impressive with the bat scoring a century 143 runs on his debut after that Mumbai picked him in Ranji Trophy.in his second season of Ranji trophy he scored 1089 runs helping Mumbai to win the title for the 38th time. He also played in Duleep trophy where he scored 172 runs against the England Lions. He was impressive with the bat scoring 265 runs and remained not out against Hyderabad in 2009-10 season. He played 125 matches he scored 9649 runs at the average of 50.8 with 29 centuries and 42 fifties.
Rehane made his List A debut for Mumbai against Delhi in Ranji one-day trophy in 2007. Rahane progressed through the Mumbai ranks and had also been a part of the Indian U-19 team and the India A. Ajinkya Rahane had also turned out for India Blue and India Green in the NKP Salve Challenger Trophy. In September 2018, Rahane was named as the captain of Mumbai for the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy tournament. In October 2018, he was named as the captain of India C's squad for the 2018–19 Deodhar Trophy. He led the team to the Final and played a crucial knock of 144* to win the title.
International Career:
Rahane made his Test debut against Australia in March after having been in the squad for 16 months but he failed to score on his debut despite this he was selected for South Africa tour where he batted in lower middle order he had impressive show scored 209 runs at the average of 69.66 in the series including 96 runs innings against a world-class bowling lineup. Rahane was up to the make in New Zealand where he scored his first test century and recused India from a difficult position.
He was included in a test squad for England tour where he justified his selection over Rohit Sharma scoring his second hundred at lords rescued India from 140-6 well supported by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. He was the fourth Indian batsman to score a century at Lords in the first appearance.
Rahane made his ODI debut against England as an opener replacing Virender Sehwag he made 40 runs in that match.he made his first ODI fifty in Asia cup 2013-14. He also captained India at the tour of Zimbabwe when a second string was selected under his captaincy India won the series 3-0. Rahane had a relatively good home series against South Africa. Batting at number 4 he scored 3 half-centuries including a quickfire 89 in a losing cause where South Africa put on a mammoth total of 438. Jinx had a decent series in Australia scoring two quick 50's in 3 innings at 4. He had an ordinary series against New Zealand scoring just one 50 in 5 innings as an opener. He played 90 ODIs scored 2962 runs with an average 35.3 with 3 centuries and 24 fifties.
Rahane made his T20i against England in 2011. Rahane was part of the Indian team makes it to the final of 2014 World T20. he got a chance to play against Australia where he scored 19 runs. He gave India a good start in the semi-final scoring 32 runs as India went on to win the Match. He also captained India in the two Twenty20 International against Zimbabwe, winning the first and losing the second match. He scored 33 and 4 runs in those matches.
In Indian Premier League Rahane picked by Mumbai Indians where got limited chance to play a match then he went to Rajasthan Royals in 2012 where he had an impressive show with the bad. He played a match winning inning 98 runs innings against Kings XI Punjab followed by unbeaten 103 against Bangalore he was the leading runs scorer for Royals in that season. Rahane had played for Rising Pune Supergiant in 2016 and 2017 season. Rahane was the leading run-scorer for RPS in 2016 season. Rahane had led RPS in a match against Delhi Daredevils in 2017 season when RPS captain Steve Smith missed out due to food poisoning. In 2018, Rahane was brought back for Rs 4 crore by Rajasthan Royals by using a Right-to-Match card. Steve Smith was appointed as Captain of Rajasthan Royals on 24/02/18. Following the ball tampering scandal against South Africa, Steve Smith (Captain of Australia) stepped down as Royals Captain. Rahane was set to lead Rajasthan Royals for the 2018 Season.
