Mohammad Shami Cricket

Mohammad Shami is an Indian national cricketer from Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, India. He is a right arm fast medium bowler consistently clicks around the 87 Mph (140 Km/h) and he has a very effective reverse swing as well. he is a right-handed tail ender batsman and has some batting skills as well. He plays for India in all the formats of the cricket game. 

Domestic Career:

Shami first-ever appearance in first-class cricket is for Bengal in 2010 against Assam where he picked up 3 wickets after that season he was picked by the selectors in India A cricket team squad against west indies where he showed his batting skills put the match-winning partnership with Cheteswar Pujara of 73 runs for the 10th wicket.
In the 2012-13 season, he took 4/36 and 6/71 in the first and second inning of the match respectively against Hyderabad and he made useful 15 runs not out from 6 balls to helps his side to win the match. In a match against Madhya Pradesh he picked up 7/79 in the first inning including a hat-trick and in the second inning he picked 4/72 as well.
In IPL was picked up by Kolkata Knight Riders and appears in 2 seasons in 2012-13 although he played only a few matches for Kolkata. In 2014 he went to Delhi Daredevils. In Delhi team, he played only a few numbers of matches and till 2018 season he played for Delhi. In 2018 auction he was bought by Kings XI Punjab for 2019 season of IPL.

International Career:

Mohammad Shami One Day International debut was against Pakistan in Delhi on 6 January 2013 where he bowled tightly and gave away only 23 runs for one wicket in his 9 overs. In 2014 Shami was in superb form at the tour of New Zealand where he picked up 11 wickets at an average of 28.72. he became the second fastest Indian bowler to take 50 wickets in ODIs. He got his best bowling figures against west indies he picked up 4/36 in 9.3 overs.
In 2015 ICC cricket world cup he was the part of 15 member’s squad and he had a good run in the world cup he picked out 17 wickets in the tournament at 17.29 average with an economy of 4.81 per over. So far he played 61 ODIs for India took 110 wickets.

Shami’s had dream test debut against West Indies he took 4 wickets in the first inning and picked up a maiden five-wicket haul in the test match. He showed his batting skills scored his first fifty in the match. He had good series against Australia in Australia picked up 15 wickets at an average of 35.80. in 29 test matches, he reached his 100th wicket landmark in test matches. So far he appears in 40 test matches for India.


Shami made his T20i in T20 world cup 2014 against Pakistan where he took only one wicket. He got his best bowling figures against England took 3 wickets for 38 runs in his 4 overs. So far he played only 7 T20 matches took 8 wickets at an average of 31.25.
