Jean-Paul Duminy Cricket
Jean-Paul Duminy is an international cricket who represent South Africa national cricket team. He is left-handed middle order batsman and he can bowl effective right arm off spin bowl. He plays in all three formats of the game. he is also the vice-captain of his side in the T20 format. In 2018 after playing 46 test matches he announced retirement from longer format of the cricket.
Domestic Career:
Duminy started playing his domestic for Cape Cobras.in 2001 he also represented Western Province till 2004 then he moved to Devon cricket team. He also played in different leagues all around the world. IPL 2009 season he was picked up by Mumbai Indies then he moved to Deccan Chargers in 2011 he played two seasons then 2011-12 seasons. In 2013 he was picked up by Sunrisers Hyderabad and 2014 Season he joined Delhi Daredevils as captain of the team and played 3 seasons for them. In 2018 Mumbai brought back him in their squad. He also played in PSL as well represented Islamabad United and later in the tournament he was named as captain by the team management and under his captaincy, Islamabad won the final against the defending champion Peshawar Zalmi.
International Career:
JP Duminy made his test debut against Australia in 2008 where hit 50 runs not out in the second inning of the match and put a century stand with Ab De Villars. In the next test match, he scored his maiden test match hundred and played the inning of 166 and made his impression in test cricket and made South Africa to take a lead of 62 runs and enable to took 9 wickets victory over Australia as well. in the 3rd test match of the series, he took his first wicket of Michael Clarke in test cricket. In 2017 he got retire from test cricket after playing 46 test matches scored 2,103 runs at an average of 32.85 with the help of 5 hundreds and 8 fifties and with the bowl he took 42 wickets as well.
In ODI format he made his debut against Sri Lanka in 2004. He is a key player in Middle order of South Africa. he played in 2011 ICC World Cup where he became 36 players to dismiss on 99 in the world cup. He also played in 2015 ICC world cup where he became first South African to take a hat-trick in the world cup. He dismissed Angelo Mathews, Nuwan Kulasekara, and Tarindu Kaushal. He was also involved in a record-breaking partnership with David Miller of 256 runs not out in the world cup. In 2019 he took retirement in ODIs after playing 194 matches scored 5,047 runs at an average of 37.38 with 4 hundreds and 27 fifties with a top score of 150 not out and with the bowl he took 68 wickets.
Jp Duminy played in T20 format as well for South Africa made his debut against West Indies in 2007. Currently, he is the vice-captain of his side in this format and he also captained South Africa in 2017 against Bangladesh in T20I Series when Faf Du Plessis got injured and under his captaincy, his side went on victory by 2-0. So far he played 80 T20I batting at an average of 38.00 scoring 1,900 runs with 11 fifties with the best score of 96 runs. he also took 21 wickets with the bowl at an average of 28.52 with 3/18 best bowling figures.
