Joe Denly
Joe Denly is an English Player. He is A right-handed batsman and Right-arm leg spinner. He is an outstanding cricketer
who scored 27 first-class centuries in his career and scored 199 runs as well
as two double-centuries. He plays as a top-order batsman. He was awarded as the
Professional Cricketer’s Association Player of the Year and was called the
seasons Most Valuable Player. Denly had played in One Day International and Twenty20 International Matches and
performed very well during his career.
Domestic Career:
Denly remained a member of the County’s
Cricket Academy and played for Kent County Club. In 2004 he made his first-class debut for county against Oxford
University. Before the end of 2005, his contract was extended. In 2007 he scored
his maiden professional century Against Hampshire, at Canterbury he was carrying his bat for 115 not out of a
Kent total of 199. He joined England Lions Squad against India and made 83 off
90 balls. He brought up 1000 first-class runs in his first season. He made a
career-best score of 149 against Somerset at Tunbridge Wells. Denly broke his
own high record of 149 runs and scored 199 runs against Derbyshire on September
2011. He had started playing for newly promoted Middlesex from Kent. In October 2014 he was returned to and Kent again after Three seasons with Middlesex
and his contract was ended with Middlesex.
In May 2016 he tried hard to improve his
first-class score. Against Northamptonshire, he scored 206 not out in the first
innings and made his first-class double century. On May 2017 he improved his
first-class performance and scored 227 runs in the second innings of
Championship match against Worcestershire.Just because of his outstanding
performances he leads the MVP rankings in the Royal London Cup and T20 Blast and
won the overall MVP award. He made a new List A record score for Kent against
Glamorgan at Canterbury and against Surrey at the Oval. He scored three
championship centuries scored 1729 runs, tool 57 wickets in the game. He was
voted Player of the Year at the Professional Cricketer’s Association award and
was selected for England Squad for the first time in 2010.
International Career:
In India, Denly scored three half-centuries
in successive matches for the under-19s
in 2005. In 2007 he played for England Lions. On 17 August 2009, he had
started his One Day International Career
and played a match against Australia and on 27 August 2009 he had made his
International debut in the ODI against Ireland. In 2010 he went to Bangladesh
and played in the Champions Trophy team and dropped from the England squad in
the run-up to the World T20.
He played for England’s Test squad against
Sri Lanka in November. In the single T20I match he returned to International
Cricket. He won Player of the match award after taking four wickets and scoring
20 runs. He was selected in England’s squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup
in 2019.
