Marcus Peter Stoinis
Marcus Peter Stoinis is an international cricketer who plays
for Australia national cricket team in limited overs format. He is a right-handed batsman plays at lower middle order and he can bowl right arm medium
fast. He also represented Australia at under-19 level in 2008 ICC Under-19
World Cup.
Domestic Career:
Stoinis started his career in domestic cricket for Western
Australia in List A format in 2008-09 Ford Ranger Cup and after two days he
made his Sheffield Shield debut for Western Australia against Queensland. He was
not regular in the team in the 2009-10 season as well and in the 2012-13 season he
moved to Victoria for the domestic season and in 2017-18 he returned to Western
Australia. He also played in Big Bash League picked up by Perth Scorchers in
2012/13 edition and in 2013/14 he moved to Melbourne stars and presently he is
playing for stars. He also appeared in IPL for Delhi Daredevils in 2015 and for
2016 season he played for Kings XI Punjab and he played for them till 2018. In 2019
he is playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore as well. he also played in
English County Cricket he played Second XI Championship for Kent County Cricket
Club.
International Career:
Stoinis made his international debut for Australia in T20Is
against England. He was not good in the shorter format of the game he played 19
matches for Australia where he scored only 136 runs at an average of 15.22 with
33 top score with the bat while with bowl he took only 9 wickets at an average
of 35.44 with 2/27.
Stoinis made his One Day International debut against
England. In his second ODI of the career against New Zealand, he played a
massive inning of 146 runs and remained unbeaten at no 7 in the batting order and
with the bowl, he took 3 wickets as well. he was named as man of the award for his
performance. He is also included in the squad for ICC 2019 Cricket World Cup.
So far he is good in ODI played 33 matches and scored 936 at an average of
38.52 with the help of 1 hundred and 6 fifties while with bowl he took 26
wickets at an average of 46.23.
