Mehidy Hassan
Mehidy Hassan is an International Cricketer who represents Bangladesh
Cricket Team. He is an all-around cricketer. He is a Right handed batsman and a
Right arm off break bowler. in November 2018 he has the honor to become the best
bowler against West Indies. for 2015 Under-19 ICC Cricket World Cup in he was
named as captain of Bangladeshi Cricket team. Mehidy drove his team into the semi-final.
He became player of the tournament for his marvelous performance against Sri-Lanka
where he scored 242 runs with the bat and took 12 wickets with the ball. He has
also awarded a central contract by the
Bangladeshi Cricket Board.
Domestic Career:
He made his first-class debut for Kalabagan against Rajshahi cricket team where he scored 51 runs and took 4 wickets in the match. He also plays for Khulna Division from 2015. In November 2016 he was picked up by Rajshahi Kings for Bangladesh Premier League and currently he is in their squad as well. he also appeared in CPL for Trinbago Knights Riders as well.
International Career:
Mehedy is an extraordinarily young talented cricketer so he
started his International Test Cricket in October against England. In his first
test match, he became seventh and youngest Bangladeshi player to take a five-wicket haul. He became the sixth bowler to take three-five wickets to haul. In his second
test cricket. He won Man of the series award as well for Bangladesh where He
took 19 wickets in the series and became
9th player internationally
and first Bangladeshi to do this in his debut series. In November 2018 he took
best match figures by a Bangladeshi bowler. Bangladeshi Prime Minister gifted
him a new house for his outstanding performance against England in the series.
In December 2016 he was named in one Day International squad against New
Zealand but unfortunately he didn’t played any match in the series but, he kept
in the squad for the series against Sri Lanka where he played his first ODI
match where he took 2 wickets for 43 runs in 10 overs In that match his performance was extraordinary.
Against West Indies in 2018 he had the honor to let his team win the match and
won the series as well by 2-1. In April 2019, he was selected for 2019 World
Cup.
In April 2017, he started his T20 debut for Bangladesh
against Srilanka. He has only played 10 T20Is for his side where he took only 3
wickets and scored 67 runs.
