Tim Southee Cricket
Timothy Grant Southee is a right-arm fast medium bowler plays for New Zealand national cricket team in all forms of cricket and a right-handed lower order batsman. he is currently vice-captain of the New Zealand cricket team. He also captained his side in the T20i against West Indies. He has the ability to swing the ball both ways and very effective slow ball cutters as well.
Domestic Career:
In 2006 Southee started playing Under-19 cricket for New Zealand. In 2006 he played ICC under-19 world cup where he took only 5 wickets at the average of 38.8. he played 2008 ICC Under-19 cricket world cup for the second time where he was announced as player of the tournament.
In 2006 he made debut for Northern Districts in first-class cricket. He was also involved in different leagues all around the world. He appears in IPL for the first time in 2011 picked by Chennai Super Kings while in 2014-15 he played for Rajasthan Royals and in 2016-17 he left Rajasthan and joined Mumbai Indians and in 2018 he was picked by Royal Challengers Bangalore. In 2011 he played English county for Essex for one season and in 2018 he played for Middlesex as well.
International Career:
Southee made his international debut in 2008 for New Zealand at that time he was the youngest ever player to make debut in international cricket for New Zealand. He appears in T20i for the first time against England. He played two T20s in Australia where he took 2/83. In 2010 in a Boxing Day match he took Hat-trick and in the next match, he took 5 for 18 in four overs that was his best figures in T20s. so far he played 58 T20s where he took 67 wickets at the average of 26.08.
In ODIs, he made his debut against Bangladesh. He played 5 matches against England he took 16 wickets at the average of 16.93. in 2011 world cup he was the third highest wicket-taker and ICC selected him in their 12-member squad as well. He played 139 matches took 185 wickets at the bowling average of 34.07 and best figures of 7/33.
Southee made his test debut against England where he took maiden 5 wickets haul he finished 5/55 in the match and scored the fastest half-century in just 29 balls. Against Australia, he took 5/225 in two matches. In 2015 on the tour of New Zealand he took 11 wickets in the series. He played 65 matches for New Zealand he took 244 wickets at the bowling average of 30.23 with best bowling figure of 7/64.
