Mitchell Santner Cricket
Mitchell Josef Santner is an international player who plays for New Zealand national cricket team in all the three formats of the cricket game. He is an all-around player. He can bowl slow left-arm orthodox spine and he is a left-handed batsman who plays at the lower order and can hit the bowl mile away. he also developed the very effective carom ball as well.
Domestic Career:
Santner started his domestic career for Northern Districts in 2011. He played 44 first-class matches for his side where he took 70 wickets with the bowl at the bowling average of 42.40 with 3/27 best bowling figures and he made 1,798 runs with the bat at the batting average of 29.47 with the help of 2 hundreds and 11 fifties and his top score is 118 while he also played 83 List A matches for ND made 1,453 runs with the bat and took 93 wickets with the bowl so far. He also played in English county cricket league for Worcestershire in 2 seasons from 2016 – 2017.
International Career:
Santner made his first appearance in international cricket for New Zealand in ODIs in 2015 at the tour of England against England where he took his first wicket of Sam Billings. In the other game, he showed his batting skills as well hit out Adil Rashid 28 runs in an over. he suffered from a knee injury due to which he was out of the cricket action for 9 months and he came back in one-day international cricket in January 2019 against India. So far he played 59 ODIs for his side scored 826 runs with the average of 27.53 with 2 fifties and with the bowl he took 63 wickets at the bowling average of 34.71 with best bowling figures of 5/50.
He made his T20 debut for New Zealand in the same tour of England when he got selected for ICC 2016 world cup T20 where in the first match he took 4/11 with the bowl and won the man of the match award as well. So far he played 31 T20 matches where he took 34 wickets at an average of 21.15 with 4/11 best bowling figures and he batted at the average of 15.15 scored 197 runs only.
In test format Santner made his debut against Australia in the day/night test match he was the first player in the history to make a debut in day/night test match. He appears in 17 test matches for New Zealand where he made 535 runs with the help of 2 fifties top score of 73 runs and with the bowl he took 34 wickets at the average of 37.05.
