Martin James Guptill Cricket

Martin James Guptill is a New Zealander opening batsman plays in all formats of the cricket game. He is 6 ft. 2-inch-tall and a dangerous right-handed batsman. and he can bowl right-arm off break. He is only New Zealand and overall fifth batsman to have a double century in one-day international.




Domestic Career:

Guptill started his domestic cricket in 2005/06 season. He debuts for Auckland in first-class cricket.in the first domestic match, he went for a duck. He is one of the batsmen who played in a different league all around the world. He played for Derbyshire county cricket club in 2011-2012 and 2015 and in 2016 he left Derbyshire and joined Lancashire and in 2018 he played for Worcestershire county cricket club. He also played in BBL for Sydney Thunder in 2012/13 edition. he was also picked by Guyana Amazon Warriors in 2013 and retained in the squad till 2017. In 2016 he picked up by Mumbai Indians in their squad in IPL and in 2017 he went to play for Kings XI Punjab and in 2019 he joined Sunrisers Hyderabad.

International Career:

Guptill made his debut in international cricket in 2009 in ODI format against west indies. he is the first New Zealand batsman to score a century on his debut in ODI format he played an inning of 122 runs not out and carry his bat throughout the inning. On the tour of England, he scored back to back centuries and scored 189 runs not out. In 2015 a match against West Indies he played a massive inning of 237 runs off just 163 balls and remained not out and finished the tournament with 547 runs.
In T20 format he made his debut against Australia in 2009. He has two centuries in this format of the cricket. So far he played 76 matches for New Zealand scored 2,272 with an average of 33.91 with two 2 centuries and 14 fifties.

In test cricket, Guptill made his debut against India in 2009. In his first match, he scored 14 in the first inning and 48 runs in the second inning. He played 47 test matches scored 2,586 runs with the batting average of 29.38 with top score 189 runs.
